Last lastly, here are some of the friends who were with us. Posted by Picasa

I did ask about churches in Guangzhou, and there was "none" nearby. However, Buddhist temple & Toaist temple are quite common. Posted by Picasa

And lastly, I found in the museum, it says Christianity was first brought in thru Guandong. Here it even has a Bible for display in the museum! In case u r curious, the pages are turned to Psalms 4, 5, 6 & 7. Posted by Picasa

The only thing I regret? I didn't try one of these old fashioned sweets! Posted by Picasa

At Dr Sun's memorial. Posted by Picasa

The food are cheap and good. Here, a breakfast for 6 cost less than USD 5. Posted by Picasa

Beside excellent bus and subway, u can also try on one of these motorbike cabs. Posted by Picasa

Downtown Guangzhou. Posted by Picasa

Then I followed my folks on the following day to do the tourist things. Here's the famous landmark for Guangzhou - huge goats statue. Posted by Picasa

Night cruise along the Zhu Zian river. Posted by Picasa

The "Chen's House" - an incredible 1800s, old fashioned chinese noble man's house. U can find amazing carvings at every nook and cranny at this big old house. Posted by Picasa

This used to be the grandest building, a palace, in ancient Guangzhou. Built on top of a hill. Now a museum. I had instant noodle on the 5th floor verandar ;) Posted by Picasa

Ok. Now the tourist things. I spent a day moving around Guangzhou armed with a map and used the excellent public transports - bus & subway. Cheap too. Posted by Picasa

The 5th - the poor are just like those in the western countries as well. Here is a girl about 9 or 10yrs old. She has to sell flowers until 4am. She doesn't go to school. And if she misses her "sales target", someone told me she will be beaten. It seems a syndicate is behind a bunch of these kids. I saw one aged 6 or 7yrs old - pushed and fell unto the busy mainroad by a 'rich' looking guy who couldn't be bothered. My heart broke to see the little one picking herself up and also the flowers scattered on the road. Nobody helped. Posted by Picasa

The 4th - the social elites lived a life u can't really differentiate from any western countries. This is most obvious from the kids' point of view. Posted by Picasa

The 3rd thing - those who like art and craft, Guangzhou has got some serious places for u to go and be amazed. Posted by Picasa

The 2nd thing I noticed - beautiful places. U can really see/touch/smell history ;)  Posted by Picasa

The first thing I noticed in Guangzhou, China - the pollution in the air. It was really bad on the 1st day. But it did clear up the following days. Posted by Picasa
