Just picked up the book "The Case for Christ" a couple of days back. And I was astonished to discover Mark & Luke were not part of the 12 disciples. This is very embarrassing since I pride myself to be "beyond-the-basic-knowledge" class of Christian. WRONG!
I have read the four gospels a few times. Well, at least the verses whereby the names of the 12 disciples are stated. YET my eyes and my mind didn't register the fact that Mark & Luke were not part of the 12 disciples.
I had a similar experience 2 yrs ago when I "discovered" that Yahweh/Jehovah is actually Jesus. I was so excited to see the connection and the proof from my Bible study. Only later did I realised almost EVERY Christian already knew that. LOL!

Here's my daughter Jane doing hers. This is what she said: "Thank you dad for being a good father. And happy father's day. And may God bless u."
Bible says: Children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father. (Proverbs 17:6) I am so privileged to be a father whom my kids are looking up to.
The kids read out special thank you/ appreciation notes to their dads.
Bible says children are a gift from God. And I have no doubt the love relationship between earthly parents and their children is but a shadow of what God is trying to show His love for us. As a Christian, it is my desire to discover that love God has for me.
Sister Lucy did a GREAT job in leading the kids and the dads in "Q&A"-ish singing. The kids sang: "O dad do u love Jesus?", then the dads sang back: "O yes we love Jesus."... so on and so forth. Really great fun.
In this world, no love is greater than the love of God. Bible says: In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1John4:9-10)

That's the proud mom (aunt June) standing behind a beaming Teresa. Well, dear Teresa, know that ur relatives from all around the world are happy for u. Cool?
And in life, there is a higher calling - be a light unto the community where u live. Jesus Christ says to His disciples in the Bible - "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds, and praise your Father in heaven." (Matt 5:14-16)
So I hope u won't blow out the candle in "real" life. Continue to shine forth, Teresa. Cheers!
Cousin Teresa was inducted into Walter H. Crowley Intermediate School's Honor Society. According to uncle Pete, beside achieving high academic grades, an active record of school/community service is a must in order to be admitted. Notice the candle she hold at her right hand? The ceremony was such that, with a lit candle, she proceeded to stage and read a citation, then blew out the candle to accept the membership.
The citation goes like: "I, (Teresa Ting), solemnly swear to uphold the high ideals of scholarship, character, service, and leadership to the best of my ability and accept membership in the Walter H. Crowley Intermediate School 5 Honor Society."

I am really blessed for the past 3 days with the sermons from Pastor Daniel and Pastor Linda. And the topics really fitted well with Pastor Kueh's series on Christian Characters. I think God really loves EBC (which is true anyway). I mean for God to send His servants all the way from WM to compliment our Senior Pastor's sermon series is just incredible.
Hmm...I believe many of us are ready for the next break-thru in our spiritual journey and our anointings. For those who missed the sermons - BUY the CDs!

Then the last we met she was visiting Sibu but was still like less than 10 yrs old. And look at her now - all grown up and doing the things aunty June must be so proud of - winning trophy ;) Here Teresa is the new champion for the Cantiague Trophy Cup Championship, held in New York City in May 13, 2005!!!
