EBC LineDancing Out-Reach '07

It's EBC LineDancing out-reach party once more! Praise God, the party is getting BIGGER & BETTER!

I notice we got a lot more people who are dancing so much better than last year... except for a few young ones who are trying hard to "blend in" ;)

The year, everything seems faster... from the dynamic dances...

...to the way lucky draw prizes are collected...

...to the "consummation" of food... Everything flows so fast!

Yet there was also time for new beginners to step out "by faith" :)

And time to deviate from rigid routine to have fun...

Praise the Lord for EBC LineDancing Ministry.

Myvi Vs Viva

VS

Hmmm....

Shirley

Wow. This month gotta be "Relatives' Month"! Last week I got my kukus coming back from HK & Vancouver. Now THIS week, I got my grandma coming and a relative whom I have NEVER met coming from Taiwan!

Sadly I was having so many business duties this past week that I couldn't really spent more time with them. But I praise God for the "busy-ness". Time seems to pass so fast which I don't really mind at all. I mean so long as it feels "faster" unto the coming of my Lord Jesus - I don't have any problem ;)

Shirley is another excellent testimony to the goodness of my God. She got so much good testimonies to share! I feel so encouraged at her stories and to see her faith in the Lord. And in my mind, I have no doubt whatsoever that God has used her trip here for a wonderful purpose. But so little time...

Sibu

My beloved Sibu town... a place both "famous" & "notorious". Sibu offers the BEST & the WORST. Kinda like the Jews. But one thing for sure: the Foochows from Sibu are "extremely famous" within Malaysia... if not within South East Asia. They are one of the MOST blessed people on earth. They seem to prosper in whatever they do. Most people would attribute "hard work" or "gutsy" as the secrets to their success.

But let me share with u all the ACTUAL secret to their success: the Almighty God of Israel. May be I will share more next time. Foochow is a living breathing testimony to the faithfulness of God Almighty.

I was in Sibu recently. And it happened that some VVVVVVIPs were in town - my beloved kukus (aunts). One back from Hong Kong, another from Vancouver. And we did what all the good Foochows would do - we had dinner together :)

Spending time with them had allowed me to "rediscover" a very notorious "trademark" of many Chinese. Most Chinese like to say one thing with their mouths but actually meant quite the opposite in their hearts.

(Pls note: the above STRICTLY for illustration purposes... Yes, I MEAN it... I REALLY mean it...)

The ART of knowing EXACTLY what the other person is saying is a process that will take YEARS of training! In between, u will get burn a few times here and there every now and then... But after u have mastered the ART, it can be quite fun ;)

So for any aspiring westerners who wish to do business in China... beware...

May Day & Spiderman 3

Praise God for Labour Day. Any day of rest is a good day. This morning we tried the new breakfast place at Crown. Excellent toast and dim-sum but expensive.

Over breakfast, I saw that Spiderman 3 is SHOWING today! The first show was only 2 hours plus away while eating my delicious dim-sum... So long yet so near... Anyway, we did some "kill time" activities before heading off to the cinema.

I arrived at the cinema at 9:45am, and already there were 2 lines! The 11am line was at least 15 persons DEEP! And the line was moving soooooo slowly! I almost wished I could turn into Spidy & JUMP straight into the ticket box!

I ended up queuing for almost an HOUR in 3 different lines buying tickets not just for my family but also for my sisters and their kids (3:30pm show) and my buddy Johnny and his family (noon show). Almost felt like the good old days again... ;)

In the end, I got the 11am tickets... but we were like dispersed here and there :(

My buddy Johnny advised: "Aiya, let the kids sit near near the screen lah!" Way to go, Johnny!

So how was the movie? Well, I think part 1 & 2 were better. I do enjoy the movie though... but definitely NOT the "Saturday Nite Fever" scenes! My favourite actor was the "French man". He deserves an Oscar! And the "blob" bad guy was really awesome!

My "favourite" catch line? Peter Parker taunted: "Want Forgivness? Get Religion." Hmmm....

My "concern"? Painting the Sandman as a "good guy"...

After 2 1/2 hours of movie, massive amount of refueling was required before heading off to more "quality time" (shopping) activities!

Praise the Lord for the wonderful day.
