My Dad's Funeral

I am not too sure how old does my dad looks now in heaven, nor do I know what exactly is he doing up there, but I do know he is having lots of fun. Like taking a swim?

Before the sealing of the tomb. Terrance (the guy in sunglasses) is one of my dad's favourite friends and "faithful" majong kaki. I told him if he wants to play majong with my dad again he better accepts Jesus as his Saviour and Lord. That's the ONLY ticket. I will pray for him. I sincerely believe if my dad has only got ONE wish up there in heaven, it would be the salvation of all the people he cared about. From uncle Pete to uncle Jee to uncle Sim to... so many of them.

Beside laying down the urn, we also selected some of dad's personal belongings to be burried together. At first, XOs and Majong were high on the selection list ;)

About 50 plus followed all the way to the cemetery.

Beside a short sermon from Pastor Kueh, my sis and myself also shared some short sharings. In fact, we were glad we were able to share the Gospel with some very close relatives and friends during past few days.

Many friends and relatives came to show their last respect. And most flew in from Sibu.  

Singing and praising the name of our Lord Jesus. I really want to thank the church for been so supportive over the years. My care group has been awesome. Bro Nelson has been incredible too. There are just so much good things in the church.

Today we have the memorial service from home. It started at 9:00am. And by around 10am, we started to head off to the cemetery.

Thanks for all the years we have been together. We miss u, dad. 

For those "strong of heart" - ya, these are the remains of my dad after the cremation awaiting for that great day:

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God,and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1Thess4:16-17)

I wish my dad could be in this photo. He would have loved it. Why all the smiles in such a time? Simple - we have Jesus in our heart. He is our Comforter and our Saviour. He is our great Shalom Peace. For in Christ is the greatest position one could ever attain in this life.  

The timing of the Lord is always perfect. God sent forth a bunch of my mum's relatives from Sibu just ONE day prior to my dad passing away. Thank God for relatives! They brought such comfort to my mum. 

That very night I was "reprimanded" for wearing RED (which I never intended) cuz thats a "happy color". According to Confucius, I am supposed to mourn and wail dayindayout for a few years next to my dad's tomb. But according to my Bible, I am rejoicing for my dad cuz he is now forever with Lord Jesus - never ever growing old, never ever getting sickness, never ever need to worry, can eat all u want... Gosh!

Someone decided to take off the cover and have a last "family photo". Afterwhich, the casket was lowered down to basement and cremated. 

I am happy my dad didn't have to suffer any longer for his illness. And I am actually feeling "jealous" of my dad cuz he is now in a FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better place than I could ever imagine. This was the "only" moment I got tears rolling down. Though I know I will see my dad soon I still miss him.

"Last Look". Well, at least in terms of "while on earth".  

The promise of the redemption of our bodies at the Rapture of the Church is that BLESSED HOPE all Christians look forward to. Though we are seperated from dad for a while physically, we know one day we shall be reunited in great joy.
