Kuching

Sometimes it is odd that we ourselves don't really go "visit" our own city. There are a few tourist spots whereby I have longed to visit... and today we managed to visit one of them - the colonial era Court House.

This place is THE "oldest" place in Kuching. Used to be THE happening place. A lot of historical significance...

But today this historical place is surrounded by a "cheap" fun fair??! Hmmm...

Alongside the Court House are some of the oldest buildings in town... These are excellent areas whereby the city council folks could really use their creativity to spice up Kuching... Like these shops here could be used to showcase the best of Kuching? From food to specialty goods stores? At least I think better than the "destructive" fun fairs.

Further out is the Kuching Waterfront. A bit disappointed the place looks a bit run-down. Again, so much potential here...

One consolation though, any tourists coming here sure won't be disappointed with SHOPPING! There are so many "tourist shops" and the wares they are selling are top notch! Kudos to the entrepreneurs!
